Jennifer Ostertag is an attorney at AlderLaw. Ms. Ostertag represents individuals who have been injured by others’ negligence. She also represents employees whose employers have harassed them, discriminated against them or deprived the employees of their fair wages.
Before joining AlderLaw, Ms. Ostertag has served as associate general counsel for a top Internet search engine at the peak of the technology explosion. Ms. Ostertag also has tried cases as lead counsel both in court and in arbitration. Some of the settlements and verdicts that Ms. Ostertag has obtained include: Van Laningham vs. Van Wormer, Inc. et al., 2007, $3.3M jury verdict against owners of a Mexican hotel chain for breach of an exclusive booking contract; $1.125M settlement for a generator technician who sustained a brain injury as a result of discrimination based on his national origin; $1.675M settlement for construction worker who sustained a spinal crush injury from a falling mock-up wall; $2.5M settlement for plaintiff whose car collided with a tractor-trailer that was hidden by a dust cloud that accompanied the rig out of a field.
Ms. Ostertag grew up in France where she received her Baccalauréat économique et social. After moving to California, she received her bachelor of arts degree from Loyola Marymount University. She is a graduate of Loyola Law School.
Ms. Ostertag is admitted to practice before California state courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Central District of California.
Ms. Ostertag is a member of the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. She is a member of the executive committee for the Beverly Hills Bar Association Employment Law Section and the Women Empowering Women Section. She is a member of the American Association for Justice’s International Relations Committee. Ms. Ostertag is also a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
In 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 Ms. Ostertag was recognized by her peers as one of the top lawyers under the age of forty in Southern California as listed on the Rising Stars list by Southern California Super Lawyers. This distinct honor is only bestowed on 2.5% of practicing attorneys. In 2014 and 2018, Ms. Ostertag has been named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers.
