Senior Attorney

“Growing up, my mom always said: “Stand up and be counted.” Looking back on it now, I followed her advice without even realizing it. As a plaintiff’s attorney, I am proud to come to work each day to help my clients stand up and be counted against injustice.”

Marni Folinsky is a Senior Trial Attorney at AlderLaw practicing in the areas of employment law, dependent adult/elder abuse and personal injury. Throughout her career, Ms. Folinsky has vigorously represented employees in claims of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination and retaliation against employers.  She also is dedicated to representing dependent adult consumers, in particular the elderly and disabled, from the abuses of health care providers and insurance companies.  Prior to joining AlderLaw, Ms. Folinsky’s practice focused primarily in the areas of legal malpractice and attorney-client fee disputes. Ms. Folinsky became one of the first Certified Specialists in Legal Malpractice Law by the State Bar of California and held that legal specialization from 2011 to 2015. Throughout her career, she has handled cases of wrongful death, elder abuse, medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, employment law, wage and hour class actions, copyright infringement/idea theft, and insurance bad faith actions in both state and federal court.

Since joining the firm in 2011, Ms. Folinsky has tried cases both in state and federal court and in arbitration. Most significantly, Ms. Folinsky was second chair in a breach of contract and fraud case resulting in a $33 million verdict for her clients whose idea for an ad campaign was stolen by an international corporation. Ms. Folinsky has also negotiated numerous six, seven and eight figure settlements over the course of her career.
