Margherita Giubilei graduated from the University of Bologna School of Law and received her LL.M. from UCLA School of Law, where she was awarded the Dean’s Excellence Award, a scholarship granted to fewer than 10% of applicants. At UCLA Law, Margherita specialized in Civil Litigation and Advocacy and actively engaged in the legal community as the LL.M. representative of the Sports Law Federation and as a member of UCLA Women LEAD. Her dedication and leadership were further exemplified when she was chosen as the Commencement Speaker, representing her graduating class.

In her professional legal career, Margherita served as a Judicial Intern at the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania and worked at several law firms in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles, including one of the top 20 largest law firms in the United States. Her legal expertise revolved around civil litigation, where her contributions played a pivotal role in the successful handling of complex legal matters spanning national and international jurisdictions. Since 2023, Margherita has practiced at AlderLaw, handling personal injury and litigation matters from intake through trial, including cases involving sexual assault and abuse. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Italian American Lawyers Association, where she also chairs the Judicial Endorsements Committee for the Los Angeles County Unity Bar (LACUB), promoting diversity in the judiciary system.

Originally from Italy, Margherita began her American journey as an NCAA student-athlete, playing on the women’s basketball team of Goldey-Beacom College while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. During her time at Goldey-Beacom, she received multiple academic awards including the Academic Achievement Award and the Criminal Justice Award, which recognized her as the student with the highest GPA in her course of study. In addition to her academic achievements, Margherita excelled as a student-athlete, serving as captain of the women’s basketball team and consistently making it to the Academic Honor Roll of the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) throughout her collegiate career. Her dedication and academic prowess were further acknowledged in her final season when she received the D-II ADA Academic Achievement Award, the Highest Team GPA Award, and a place on the 2017-18 CACC Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team, an honor reserved for players with the highest GPAs in the conference. Margherita also played professional basketball in Italy for several years, an experience that instilled in her the discipline, resilience, and competitive drive she now brings to the courtroom, where she advocates for her clients with the same determination and team-first mentality that defined her athletic career.

Trilingual in Spanish, Italian, and English, Margherita’s international upbringing and experience across different countries have given her a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives, an asset she brings to her advocacy for clients and her broader engagement with the legal community.
